Federer Too Tired To Play

It appears Roger Federer is too tired to compete the in the Japan Open and Shanghai Masters again. Yes again, he did the same thing two years ago in 2007 citing fatigue as he did this year. It is the same in golf and I don't think its right for a Federer to pull out this late. The tournaments and fans have banked on him being there. They have invested in him. I think players should have to honor commitments to tournaments unless for verified medical reasons (not fatigue). The stakes are too high and they make too much to not have to require the commitment be met. Just my thoughts. Yours?

The Williams sisters are one of the reasons for the decline in the sport. No one wants to watch a gorilla in a dress swing a racket at a little yellow ball. She should be ashamed and so should her family.

I am disgusted with her! She makes me sick.

Roddick Loses but is feeling good for Open

Roddick looked good but I don't know if he is ready to defeat Federer or Nadal at the Open. Federer lost in the final match at DC in his first appearance and hard court tune up for the open. Del Porto played well but not at the caliber of Federer or Nadal.

“Coming in here after being off for a month, you want to find out where your form’s at, you want to get a bunch of matches in,” Roddick said. “I feel I’m on the right path toward the Open.” Roddick stated.

I really like Roddick but he doesn't have the stomach or determination to defeat a Federer or Nadal. Federer wins again I fear will be the headline for 2009.

Federer / Wife have twin girls!

There is not much else to hoot and howl about... Roger Federer's wife just gave birth to twin girls. It was pretty much kept a secret that she was having twins, which immediately makes me think of fertility drugs. I am curious if they are twins or fraternal (I think that is what you call non identitcal twins).

Congrats to them both and I am happy to hear everyone is healthy.

Roddick To Play at Legg Mason

Roddick made the announcement viat Twitter that he will be playing in Washington at the Legg Mason event. I guess he is ready to get back to work. I am pulling for him at the US Open and was heart broken at his loss. It was obvious his serve was incredible and dominating but he couldn't keep pace with Federer's ground game. Crazy when you win more total points but lose the match!
